The sole goal is to get fit and get fast. Ranging from ages 10-20 we teach and tweak the stroke mechanics of each of the 4 strokes in the development squads (10-13/14) and performance squads (13+)
Development Squad (9-13 years)
The swimmers in our Development Squad enhance their stroke skills and start building their water fitness along with strength to swim faster. This squad trains 3 to 5 times per week for 1-1.5 hour each session and also includes 1 dry-land session. Swimming competitions are introduced to this group at an early age to develop confidence moving forward in the sport.
OBJETIVE:
The development Squad is a pathway squad from our Learn to Swim programme. The purpose of the squad is to seek out the potential in each athlete. We strive to bring out the competitive nature in the athlete.
SQUAD STANDARDS:
- Putting 100% effort to every training session
- Minimum of 3 sessions per week, club must be informed of other activities outside of the sport. We strive for 100% attendance.
- Listen, learn and apply. These are important years to develop your stroke technique.
Performance Squad (13+)
OBJETIVE:
The purpose of the squad is to introduce excelling athletes to top performances environments to allow development of high performance tendencies, skills and habits.SQUAD STANDARDS:
- Putting 100% effort to every training session
- Non-negotiable full attendance
- Be role models for our club and younger swimmers
- Swimmers 17 and older must have ASA level 1 course
